From humble beginnings in November 2005, Hope Animal Rescues emerged from the ashes of Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath, welcoming pets in desperate need and fighting for those on their last day at high-risk facilities As a licensed, no-kill, all-breed shelter, they’ve been transforming lives in Madison, St. Clair, Jersey, and St. Louis counties ever since.

Hope Animal Rescues operates with one clear purpose:
Saving lives on the brink — pets pulled on their last scheduled day, including from facilities using gas chambers
Rehabilitation & Love — animals receive shelter, vet care, mental enrichment, and compassion.
Adoption to Forever Homes — with a $275 fee covering desexing, microchips, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and preventive care

5,618 rescues since 2005, with 5,514 adoptions, and around 104 dogs currently in care
Houses roughly 109 dogs at any given time, all living in a 14-acre sanctuary and brought in by appointment to maintain a calm environment
