🐶Tough Toys, Woven Leashes & a Heart for Dogs: Ashley’s Story

This June, we’re thrilled to spotlight Ashley—a creator whose life revolves around dogs, creativity, and community. Her brand, The Crafty Gypsy, is packed with personality, durability, and a lot of love.

Ashley’s journey into crafting gear for pets started with a simple problem: her pitties could destroy everything. From plush toys to supposedly “indestructible” leashes, nothing lasted long in their paws. So she did what any creative, determined dog mom would do—she started making her own.

These days, Ashley shares her home with two high-energy Miniature Pinschers, Charlie Ray and Kash Money, who test out her creations. Her line includes beaded collars, ultra-durable toys, and leashes that are as strong as they are stylish. Each piece is handmade, built tough, and beautifully designed.

But Ashley’s talents don’t stop there. She’s worn a lot of hats over the years—dog trainer, rescue volunteer, prison dog program facilitator at Tucker Max security prison, and owner of her own training and boarding facility. Today, she’s a special education teacher who spends her spare time creating and traveling with her daughter, Cole. (Mexico is their favorite destination so far!)
